Family 

As a family we have always loved animals, we have always had pets, whether it was chickens, dogs, cats, sheep, cows and many, many more. Living on a farm makes it even easier to have as many animals as we can enjoy and look after. 

The Start of Something ...

But back in July 2022, we came up with the idea of having a few guinea pigs to breed but mostly would be pets. Then it started ... we just got more and more until it went from 2 to 20+. 

We just loved it, seeing the babies grow, but especially seeing the mothers give birth, it is an amazing experience to see that, and even though it was a lot of work and took a lot of time to get their home and our set up just right for them, when we finally did it started to run like clockwork. 

It is amazing to think that, as of May 2023, we have bred approximately 120 baby guinea pigs, all of whom have found a loving new family and forever home. 

It has never ceased to amaze us to see an animal give birth, especially when they have hair, teeth, claws, eat solid food and start drinking from the water bottle within 3 days! Within minutes they are running around or trying to, play with each other, annoying mum!!

We care so much about all animals, big or small, and even in the little time we have had guinea pigs we have learnt so much but with still lots to learn. Looking after any type of animal is hard work and is a big responsibility but despite that, they give you so much joy and happiness making it all worth it. 

New Horizons 

But despite this some good things have to come to an end, so we made the decision on May 24, nearly 2 years after we originally started, to stop breeding and rather to focus on our Pigs On Petals Hotel. Breeding is a big stress and involves as much sadness as it does happiness. But we see it as the start of our Pigs On Petals empire!

Pigs On Petals Pantry & Bakery 

We decided to start selling health-focused, flower-based treats for your guinea pigs, rabbits, and hamsters. It is important to have a natural alternative to health care for your pets. 

Everything is 100% natural ingredients. Each product is designed for its health benefits, whether that might be helping improve their coat, their stomach, or just supporting those senior fur babies. 

We officially opened in October 2024, and we are so excited about how well it is going so far!
